Nicole Landaw's journey into the world of fine jewelry kicked off with an unlikely start on the first day of her freshman year at Dartmouth College, where the econ major laid eyes on a friend’s handmade metal box and a set of jewelry-making tools.
By age 20, Landaw had already cultivated a fervent passion for goldsmithing and design, nurtured at Dartmouth’s jewelry-making studio. Following the completion of her MFA in metalsmithing and Cranbrook Academy of Art, Landaw continued to hone her craft, training in Germany and working alongside luminaries such as John Iversen and at Ten Thousand Things. In 2004, her namesake line was launched.
Now operating from her Hudson Valley studio, Landaw adheres to a design ethos informed by a diverse palette of influences, from the sinuous shapes of the natural world to the stark angles of modern architecture. Her creative odyssey involves sketching, sculpting and refining, bringing together color-soaked gemstones with clean gold silhouettes and a sense of spirit.
