Each earring features two faceted, green tourmalines that are asymmetrically set with their mates and each stone is set in Lola’s signature delicate bezel. The tourmaline drops measure approximately 1″ &, when hanging, the earrings measure 1 1/2″ from the top of the ear wire to the bottom of the earring.

Stones, often hand-cut, are the starting point for Brooks, who incorporates a prism of gems spanning rubies to tourmaline in her collections — though she has a professed fondness for diamonds.Reflecting influences ranging from the Victorians to the Arts & Crafts movement and modernist American studio jewelry, each piece is fabricated or carved in wax and cast, resulting in limited production and one-of-a-kind works.

An artist and educator who studied at Pratt Institute and earned a BFA in metals at SUNY New Paltz, Brooks has had her work chronicled in numerous publications. Her jewelry can be found in the permanent collections of New York City’s Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Art and Design.
